May 2025 Newsletter

Check out what we have been up to in May!

As we move forward, we want to take a moment to reflect on the impact we made throughout the past month.

Thanks to your dedication and support, we continued to strengthen our food distribution network, expand access to fresh meals, and foster deeper connections within our community.

We are excited to keep this momentum going, so stay tuned for ways in which you can help us achieve our mission.

With gratitude,

The Food4Philly Team

4,000 POUND DONATION AT HUNTING PARK

During this past month, we were able to make huge donations; our Hunting Park initiative recently donated 4,000 pounds of food in one event. What an accomplishment!

DELCO GIVES EVENT

We were grateful to be a part of this year's Delco Gives event, where we made $200 in merch sales and donations. Thank you to all who helped out, and a special shout-out to our former Senior President Milan Varma for being interviewed live for the event, where he spoke out about our work and mission!

EAGLES PLAYERS AT EVENT

Eagles’ Nakobe Dean and Jalyx Hunt stopped by on 5/31 at our Hunting Park distribution event! That day was a huge success with 2,000 pounds of food donated, 150 families fed, and some serious community love. Shout-out to the volunteers from Shipley and Haverford. Go Birds!!!

FEEDING PHILLY COLLABORATION

Food4Philly co-founder Zaid Salaria, Feeding Philly founder Samantha Sandhaus, and Adi Shrikhande collected food donations and essential items from students at Lehigh University! Students used their extra dining dollars to purchase non-perishable goods, all of which were used to support the Lehigh University and Fountain Hill food pantries in Bethlehem, PA.

NEW JUNIOR EXECUTIVE MEMBERS

We're thrilled to welcome our new Junior Executive Members, Hugh Williams and Anantvir Othie, who both joined the team within the past couple of weeks!

Hugh is a sophomore at The Haverford School. He has many musical interests, and he enjoys spending time with friends.

Anantvir is a junior at The Haverford School. He had a great interest in finance and a love for playing squash.

We're excited to see how they'll help us grow our impact and bring fresh energy to our mission of fighting food insecurity and uplifting our community.

THANK YOU, MILAN VARMA

As we look ahead and welcome our new leadership, we also want to take a moment to convey our deep gratitude to our Senior President, Milan Varma, as he has stepped down. His charisma, leadership, and hard work have been so integral to this organization's progress. We know he will do great things at Georgetown University!
