JUNE 2025 Newsletter

Check out what we have been up to in June!

As we move forward, we want to take a moment to reflect on the impact we made throughout the past month.

Thanks to your dedication and support, we continued to strengthen our food distribution network, expand access to fresh meals, and foster deeper connections within our community.

We are excited to keep this momentum going, so stay tuned for ways in which you can help us achieve our mission.

With gratitude,

The Food4Philly Team

6 MONTH ANNIVERSARY

This past month marked the sixth anniversary of our Hunting Park initiative. We cannot wait to continue making an impact through this event in the many weeks to come.

RECORD-BREAKING DONATIONS

Records are made to be broken, which is exactly what happened on June 22 at our Hunting Park event! 5,000 pounds of food later, our weekly events continue to successfully distribute food to hundreds of families in the Philadelphia area. What an incredible day. Thank you to TCRC Philly and our hard-working volunteers from Upper Dublin, Lower Merion, and Haverford.

NEW TEAM MEMBERS

We're thrilled to welcome two members to new positions in the Food4Philly team!

Ayush Varma is joining as a part of the innovation team. He enjoys soccer, percussion, Xbox, traveling, and many other activities.

Asher Wan is joining as a new member of the innovation team as well as the strategy team. Outside of School, Asher enjoys cooking, swimming, and listening to classical music.

We're excited to see how they'll help us grow our impact and bring fresh energy to our mission of fighting food insecurity and uplifting our community.

PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER FEATURE

We want to share that Food4Philly was featured in a profound article by the Philadelphia Inquirer on the pressing issue of how non-profits are reacting to DOGE cuts.

"Food4Philly, a student-run food distribution service in Hunting Park that counts more than 150 members nationwide, has only been indirectly affected at this point, adviser Milan Varma said."...
