The Growing Problem of Food Shortages
Kevin Zhu - Penncrest HS Team Manager
According to the UN, nearly ⅓ of people in the world or 2.37 billion people didn’t have adequate food access in 2020. In light of the current fighting in Ukraine, the number of refugees that need our help is bound to increase. So what can we do to help them? Here are some things we can do to support them:
1. CARE
This international humanitarian organization is actively fighting world hunger, and now you can donate to the Ukrainian refugees to provide them with water, food, and much more. Click here to make a donation.

2. United World Wide
United WorldWide will provide immediate needs such as transportation, food, and medicine to the families in need. Contribute here.

3. World Central Kitchen
World Central Kitchen is serving thousands of meals to Ukrainians fleeing as well as staying in Ukraine. To help them get as many meals out as possible, donate here.

4. International Rescue Committee
The IRC is in Poland supporting the women and children with food and other supplies. If you want to help, donate here.

5. Food4Philly
Here at Food4Philly, we are running several projects with the goal of raising proceeds to aid and ultimately supply food for Ukrainian refugees. We have just released our Food4Ukraine wristbands for $2 each! To help our effort in supporting Ukrainian refugees, show your support by buying a wristband and rep the blue and yellow!
